Transparency starts with asking better questions

On Wednesday, my inbox filled up with alerts from law firms and news outlets reporting that enforcement of the California law I co-authored and testified on is starting.

The law is known as the Fair Investment Practices by Venture Capital Companies Law (FIPVCC).

The moment that keeps replaying in my head isn’t a hearing or media coverage. It’s sitting at a sticky table in Star Wars Land at Disney, on a family vacation, editing bill language on my phone. I kept thinking, “Are we absolutely insane for doing this right now?” Also knowing, without a second of doubt, that we were doing the right thing and that it mattered.

What felt impossible and far away is now real.
