April 2021 Update

Hello!

Before we get to company updates and announcements, I have to acknowledge recent events. What happened to Lt. Caron Nazario and Daunte Wright and way too many Black people before them is sickening. This is a heavy and traumatic time in what is already an historic period of loss and hardship. Be mindful of the fact that people you know may be grappling with intense anger and overwhelming emotions as they make it through daily business.

This is particularly true for Black parents who must constantly think about what to say at home and how to prepare their children for potential future first-hand experiences. James Oliver, Jr. is taking real action here and founded The ParentPreneur Foundation to empower Black parent entrepreneurs so they can leave a legacy for their children. I'm proud to announce our partnership; we are already working with fantastic members of their community with more collaboration to come. I am also proud to have donated, and encourage you to do the same.

I am also proud to welcome two new advisors to the Scroobious team! Ralph H Groce III is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at BNY Mellon and is advising on business and information technology, operations, and go to market strategy. He is incredibly passionate about transforming early stage investing to be more diverse and equitable to underserved founders. Dan Caddigan is Senior Director of Engineering at Indigo. He is our technical advisor and is working with our team on v1 architecture and design as we look beyond our MVP.

130 founders have already used PiP™ to build pitch decks, presentations, videos, and confidence in fundraising. We're growing fast and to keep up with demand, we're actively hiring part-time/contract roles! Check out our job listings and please share!

Read on for upcoming events, where to catch me speaking, and our featured founder.

Thank you for reading this. Thank you for helping us. I appreciate you.
